Hospice Half and Dewey Color Dash a Huge Success!

Staff and volunteers of Hospice of South Ga would like to thank each member of our hospice advisory board who took part in our successful fundraiser!  Special thanks to Maggie Davis and Marie Benefield for heading up this event!

It was an early Saturday morning when our Half Marathon runners lined up to run 13.1 miles.  We had 5 members of the Ga Tech cross country team join us, many more from the Atlanta area, and our Half Marathon winner joined us from Tallahassee, FL.  As the morning dew and fog started to clear, we began to see our first runners cross the finishline, with the 1st place winner coming in at 1 hour and 18 minutes. Great time!  We had over 70 registered for our Half Marathon.
By the end of our first run, the sun was out and shining.  Once registration began, the excitment for our 5k Color Run was sparked by people beginning to open their complimentary color packets and throwing them on each other! Everyone wore all white, some with tutus and wigs.  5 color stations of volunteers from VSU and Moody AFB awaited our runners with many colors.  One color station of Moody AFB youth began to make cheers up and even encourage our runners!  Overall, it was a beautiful day!
Our Hospice Half and Dewey Color Dash was a big hit in Valdosta with over 300 people registered for this event.  Hospice of South Ga would like to thank everyone who registered and showed your support for our organization.  We are forever grateful!
