Throughout the year, Hospice of South Georgia hosts a variety of support groups, educational opportunities, volunteer activities, professional training and recognition programs, fundraisers, and community awareness events.

Our Calendar is updated as often as possible and highlights programs and events for each month, with notations about registration deadlines or cost, if any.

Coming Events :

• Congregational Health Ministry and Faith Community Nursing Informational Meeting will take place at the Hospice of South Georgia Administration Building on Monday, July 19th from 11am - 12:30pm. Vicki Roberts RN, FCN a Parish Nurse/Health Advocate Nurse from Stone Mountain Park and Jeff May, RN, FCN from HOSG will present educational information on implementation of Faith Community Nursing. Please register as space is limited.

• New Volunteer Training Classes- Another volunteer training will be scheduled soon! Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering. We strive to coordinate volunteer training to fit different schedules, let us know what works for you! Contact Della Perkins, Volunteer Services Manager, at 229-671-8375.
  
• Adult Bereavement Support Group- Meetings will be held each Tuesday from September 7th - October 12th at the Hospice of South Georgia Administrative Building, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta from 6pm - 7:30pm. This group is open to anyone that has experienced the loss of a loved one. Sessions are free, but groups are closed after the second session. Call 229-249-4100 to register or for more information.
• Children Bereavement Support Group- Meetings will be held every other Thursday beginning Thursday, April 29 until June 17th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at the Hospice of South Georgia Administrative Building, 2263 Pineview Drive. The children's group will offer a safe place to express emotions and feelings about a loved one and provide an opportunity for children to meet others who have lost a loved one. Call Connie Register, Hospice bereavement coordinator, to register at 229-249-4100. There will also be an ongoing parent/guardian group on the same dates and time as the children's group. Both groups will be closed after the second week.
• "Snazzy Shoes and Swingin' Skirts" - Dancing to the big band hits! Join us on August 7, 2010 at 7:30pm at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center. Proceeds benefit the Hospice of South Georgia and Langdale Hospice House. Dinner, Auction and Cash Bar. $40 per person or $75 for couples. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 249-4100.
