Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are truly the heart of Hospice of South Georgia. Their dedication is reflected in contributions of over 3000 hours per year in service to our patients and their families! There are always opportunities and challenges for volunteers at Hospice of South Georgia.

Our volunteers find satisfaction from making a difference in many ways…
Many potential volunteers want to find a way to comfort others, but some are unsure about their ability to deal with the many emotions that can arise while helping patients and their families. We understand that volunteers have many talents to share!
Those who have skills in office support, fundraising efforts, community education, or who prefer to work “behind-the-scenes”, are always appreciated.

Others are drawn to offer companionship, meals, reading, letter writing, or spiritual support to the patients and families we care for.

Whatever your style or your schedule may be, Hospice of South Georgia has an opportunity that would be just right for you. We have volunteers from all walks of life, who are led to help our Hospice fulfill its mission of bringing comfort and dignity to the patients and families we serve.

Hospice of South Georgia provides the special training you need, in order to prepare you for whatever volunteer role you choose. Our Volunteer Services Manager can answer questions and give you ideas about the many ways you can help.
You can contact our office by phone or by email.

A convenient volunteer application is also available on this web page! Click on the "Volunteer Application" icon in the upper right corner of this page, and print out the application form. It can be submitted by mail or in person so that a personal interview can be arranged.
