Testimonials

I absolutely adore everyone who works for Hospice of South Georgia and the Langdale Hospice House. My father was battling liver cancer when he moved to Valdosta and we were referred to Hospice of South Georgia and everyone was great, caring, understanding and very friendly. During my father's final days he stayed at the Langdale Hospice House where he passed away. All of the nurses were wonderful and compassionate. My daughter and I still to this day, almost a year after his passing, have a relationship with some of the employees there. I call them our angels.

When my husband’s RN said it was time to admit him to hospice, and she said they had one affiliated with the nursing home, I declined. I said, “No, I want to take him to Langdale Hospice House." I knew the staff there because I was a volunteer RN for Hospice of South Ga when it first started in 1987. It was like going home. My husband’s care involved a team oriented approach for medical care, pain management and emotional and spiritual support. The social workers were terrific---guiding me all the way and into bereavement. My husband died in peace and with dignity.

Losing my Mom was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. The entire staff of Hospice of South Georgia provided information through amazing dedication to detail and keen understanding of where I was emotionally and where my Mom was physically. The level of care and concern was exceptional. Ongoing grief support provided by Hospice of South Georgia was instrumental with the healing process. Realizing this level of support was available was inspiring, and opened new levels of understanding regarding the loss of a loved one. Caring, understanding, dedication. A peaceful conclusion to a most difficult experience.

My Mama received Hospice care in her home from Hospice of South Georgia. As her health continued to decline, she made the decision to move into the beautiful Langdale Hospice Home (in the residential program) where she resided for 8 months until her death. The Hospice team could not have been more helpful at a greatly emotional time. The professional, yet loving, care shown was incredible. They helped to make my Mama’s last days peaceful for her and a comfort for our family. I cannot imagine how we could have made it through those last months without the love, compassion, and support that we received from the Hospice team. I will forever be grateful and thankful for all of the Hospice staff.

Hospice of South Georgia was a God send when it came to connecting with my inner feelings of emotions. A very low point in my life, dealing with the difficult experience in the loss of my dearly beloved husband Curtis Tyrone Williams Sr. The Hospice staff, nurses, and caring counselor, Connie Register, was and still are simply amazing and wonderful. Thanks for everything.

My daddy battled cancer for ten years. When his end of life journey began in 1999, Hospice of South Georgia helped our family care for him at home for two months. Daddy died peacefully in his own bed. The physical, emotional, and financial strain of my mother’s care took a heavy toll on our family. When she met criteria for hospice in 2014, she became a resident at Langdale Hospice House. We never met a more kind and efficient group of staff and volunteers. Whether it is end of life care in the home, or as a resident at Langdale Hospice House, I trust Hospice of South Georgia with any of my loved ones.
